Creative Freedom: Inside My Recent Portland Studio Shoot
This photoshoot was taken at my personal creative space in Portland, Oregon! It was a personal project fueled by pure creativity, portfolio building, and collaboration.

The Gear: Cameras and Lighting
To capture these shots, I relied on a mix of high-end mirrorless technology and studio lighting:
- Camera: Sony A7CR mirrorless camera
- Lenses: 40mm, 50mm, and 70-200mm focal lengths
- Lighting: ProFoto off-camera flashes and strobes
- Modifiers: ProFoto umbrella light modifiers
Styling: Breaking My Own Fashion Rules
The clothing shown is a mix of pieces from Tillys and Forever21 (via JCPenney).
Normally, I enforce a strict styling rule: ensure all clothing comes from the same brand or retail store. I avoid mixing brands because companies rarely want to share the spotlight with a competitor.
However, because this was a personal portfolio project, we threw out the rulebook and focused purely on the aesthetic.
This shoot was an absolute joy to create. I am incredibly happy with how the final images turned out, and I hope you all enjoy and appreciate them too!
