Next Gen Aesthetics: Mall Fashion With Leiya Locke
There’s something magical about the Pacific Northwest sky just as the sun dips below the horizon. The light gets heavy, the shadows stretch out, and the entire city takes on a cinematic, moody energy.
For my latest streetwear shoot, I headed up to a PNW rooftop to capture 15-year-old high schooler Leiya Locke against that exact backdrop. The sleek Toyota Supra is Leiya’s actual in-real-life car gifted to her by her amazing parents.
Chaperoned by her mom, Jeanette, Leiya brought the perfect effortless energy to the lens, styling a casual grey NASA top from Tillys with torn blue jeans.
I captured these images with my Canon 5D Mark IV and a mix of natural light and ProFoto flash. We chased the fading light to create something truly atmospheric. Here’s a bit about how we brought this low-light streetwear session to life.
The Aesthetic: Moody Casual Streetwear
The shoot perfectly blended casual teen style with a dark, cinematic edge.

- The Atmosphere: Set during a dark Pacific Northwest sunset, the golden hour light behind the dark overcast clouds created deep shadows and rich, moody vibes.
- The Backdrop: An industrial rooftop featuring a sleek Toyota Supra to add an urban, automotive edge.
